# 08-25 Client Splitter in CAD

Today I designed a part in CAD that splits the mounting points in three ways as shown below. Then three RPi cases can be mounted on the protruding L-shaped PLA bits. PLA tends to bend under constant loads over time, so the struts between the splitter and L angles are supposed to be out of the same sort of 9X9 mm rod as used in the stands. The benefit of spatial diversity is a reduction in effects of multipath fading as discussed in User Tracking for Access Control with Bluetooth Low Energy. When using spatially separated antennae, it is possible to catch multiple separate signals that travel their own path and thus experience different multipath and fading characteristics. Thus the reliability of measurements is increased when taking the mean of all measurements.

I also built three more stands because higher anchor densities decrease the distance between the client and beacons. At small distances the signal is more reliable. Tomorrow I will let the adapters print and set up another Raspberry Pi that should come in the mail.
